I don’t shave in the winter. Last winter I was like, “Wow, I really don’t wanna shave this spring, it’s too much of a pain in the ass and I just don’t care anymore.” So I didn’t shave that spring, and have not shaved my legs since. I like the way it feels and looks, but more so, I like not having to worry about shaving, it’s nice to be able to relax in the shower. My hair would grow back SO FAST that in order to be comfortable I’d have to shave like every other day. So, this way, I am much happier and don’t care what other people think. I go out all the time in public with shorts/dresses on, went to prom with hairy legs, ya, really don’t care. :)

Really? I mean sure, do whatever you want, and you might be a great person (or not, idk)… but seriously, this is gross. Honestly, I don’t see how you stand it.

okay not trying to be mean but this proves my point, feminism is leading women into turning into men, thats not how its supposed to be, we are different and thats the beauty of it.

Hold on. How on EARTH can you judge her because of her choice? This is HER choice. Not yours. You don’t have to not shave. I personally wouldn’t. But for you to say “ew” or that it’s “gross” is completely out of line. And since when has smooth legs been a requirement for being feminine? I forget to shave all the time - does that make me less feminine? Does it make me a man? I’m sorry but this is all completely ridiculous. It’s LEGS. LEGS HAVE HAIR NATURALLY. And if you choose to shave then great! If you choose not to, great! But you simply cannot say “gross” or that this is turning women into men. It’s just leg hair. Props to this girl for being who she wants to be regardless of others’ commentary. /endrant

I am completly entitled to my opinion. And its 2012 okay? I personally think that its gross to not shave, going a couple days is whatever but going months and walking around in the summer time? fine yeah, its her choice, but I am completly entitled to my opinion COMPLETLY. and its my blog to do so <3 God Bless

I agree that you have a right to your opinion, and I’ll let the gross thing slide. But how can you say that not shaving is turning women into men? Leg hair is natural for both genders. I think that shaving is one of society’s ways of oppressing women, not an inherent trait of womanhood. It is completely her choice to not shave, and that doesn’t make her less feminine or turns her into a man.

lol whether you let it slide or not my opinion wouldnt change lol, and thats just one of the examples I personallly thing that feminism is convincing women that the key to happiness is working, not having a family, dressing promiscuis, birth control to keep from getting pregnant (just like men cant) etc. I support birth control over abortion I still feel like women are trying to be like men and we were made differently, God made us differntly, its not that we arent equal, we are just different and made to do different things, Thats the beauty of it all. God is good, all the time.

First of all, sorry about the implication I made in the “let it slide” thing. I meant more of “put it aside and focus on a different aspect,” but I realize it sounded condescending and I apologize.
I think what you described is feminism gone awry. Feminism is not supposed to be about convincing women to become like men but unfortunately it has gotten to that point in some circles of feminism, particularly in the areas of abortion and contraception. And you’re right: God made men and women different for reasons, and neither gender should try and be/be forced to be like the other. However, I don’t see shaving as a way women are forced to be like men. I see it in abortion and I see it in contraception but I don’t see it in something like shaving. I also don’t see what’s wrong with working and not having a family. If a woman feels that she should work and not have a family, I don’t see a problem.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with working and not having a family, but what I am saying is that a lot of feminists insist thats the only way to be happy, there is nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom! I personally know that I need to work and that God has a plan for me to work, but I dislike how feminists make it sound like the only happy life a woman can have is being independent and working. and as for the legs thing, I just dont like it but again thats just my opinion. I am in full support of the first century feminists, but nowadays it has become radical and I dont see the equality anymore, I just see women trying to get revenge, the radicals anyways. I dont think I have met a nonradical

I see all your points. Did you link shaving to feminism because you don’t like not shaving and you don’t like feminism? (I’m not trying to dig at you. Emotions don’t display on the internet. I’m honestly curious.)
Also, I’ve met lovely nonradical Catholic feminists such as Q and KiKi.
